Our Mission
West Lancs ARK is here for people facing challenges with housing, money, work, health or everyday life. Since 2012, we have helped local residents, ex-Armed Forces personnel, ex-offenders and people at risk of homelessness find practical support and a way forward.
Whether you need help with benefits, debt, job applications, training, foodbank referrals or accessing other services, we aim to listen without judgement, explain your options and help you take the next step.

Here when you need a helping hand
West Lancs ARK has supported the Skelmersdale community since 2012. If you’re facing a difficult time, speak to us for confidential, compassionate guidance on housing, employment, foodbank vouchers, wellbeing and more.
Separate provisions are also available for women, and we can help with referrals for SIA, forklift and CSCS cards.

Do I need an appointment or can I just turn up?
We welcome walk-ins during our office hours. However, to ensure personalized attention, appointments are recommended, especially for more complex cases. Feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment at your convenience.
What support is available for Ex-Forces like me?
We collaborate with organizations like SSAFA, Veteran's HQ, RBL, and more. From finding housing solutions to accessing medals, education, volunteering, and support for family members—come walk through our door; help awaits.
I am homeless, where can I seek help and what comes next?
Take the first step, reach out to your local homeless team, then contact us. We'll work diligently with the council and agencies to secure housing and guide you through the next steps.
Seeking assistance with affording food?
As a registered agency of the Trussell Trust, we provide Foodbank Vouchers to those in need. Reach out to our team for assistance, and you'll receive a parcel designed to last for 3 days. Collect it from your nominated foodbank.
Struggling with overwhelming debts?
Certainly. We provide support for various debts, including Council Tax and Rent arrears. Our services include debt advice and referrals to specialized agencies like debt management, Inclusions, Money Advice Team, and more.
